We are going green by making reusable sandwich bags. I found some cute fabric.
My 7 yo says she is going green by using rocks and string to make dolls. FYI, rock are too heavy to stay on a stick when adhered using a glue gun. We are now on a search for lighter heads.
I found a lot of green leaves on a sunny walk today.

Had to laugh at the doll.... too funny! Those might have to end up as body-less dolls ;-)
Maybe you could use acorns as heads? Althouh they would be much smaller than this rock.
