Close Up Photography

Wednesday, March 23

As usual, I'm waiting until the last moment to post my photos for a photography assignment over at Views Infinitum.   I'm lucky that the nicest lens I have happens to be a 60mm macro.  I really should use it more.
Here are a couple of the ones I liked best.  If you know me, I'm sure you're impressed because I really don't like bees, but this one was holding pretty still and didn't look like it was going to attack.

  1/100s,  f/14.0  ISO 800

 1/100s,  f/10.0, ISO 800

 1/80s,  f/6.5  ISO 640

 1/80s,  f/2.8  ISO 1600

 1/80s,  f/4.0  ISO 800

I used a Canon Rebel T1i with a 60mm 1:2.8 macro lens for all these shots.  I got pretty lucky with the animal shots, but using a tripod for the other stuff would be helpful.

You have been be'sy too :-)
I admire your pet shots. I wonder how i could make my cat pose long enough for the camera to focus.

Great shots, Deanna!
Nice detail on the bees, but the third one is my favorite.

I could not get my cat to sit still long enough. I'm impressed. Love the bee shots, too.
