You Capture - Easter

I always loved finding eggs as a kids, but the 4th & 5th graders in our family had other ideas.

Friday, September 28

Here are a few photos from last weekend when we went to Ashland with friends and no kids!  Thanks Aunt Marcie, Grandma & Grandpa for entertaining the girls.  Everyone had a great time.

You Capture - Purple & Water

Thursday, June 30

I just had to check the calender to figure out the date - great thing about vacations - you really lose track of time.  I so behind on blogging that I'm combining the last two photo challenges.  It's been busy with weddings, end of the school year and packing for a three week vacation.

Here are the twins (actually, just cousins) at my brother's wedding.

And here are my girls loving the warm ocean in North Carolina.

Oh Mexico

Thursday, March 10

Well, I got back from Mexico over two weeks ago and I'm finally done working on the photos
I went on a snorkeling tour to Cabo Pulmo and even though the reef and fish were not that exciting, seeing a mama and baby humpback whale, flying manta rays and sharks made it very worthwhile.  I really missed the good camera, but I just didn't want anything to happen to it.   I was pretty happy to capture this shot.

There were hundreds of these guys jumping up all around our boat.  I still haven't figured out why they do it.  I'm still kicking myself for not taking a video.   I had a great time and since our timeshare turned out to be so nice I will have to take my family there soon.

You Capture - things that start with L

Wednesday, February 23

Well I just got back from five nights in Cabo (and it was awesome), but I totally forgot about L words. I was just working on my photos from the trip and found a few even if they are in Spanish.
La Luna

La luz (light) de la luna

sea Lions

 Lobster

Lantern

You Capture - Orange

Thursday, October 21

There was a lot of road work going on driving south on I-5 last weekend, so we passed a lot of these on our 5 hour drive.

My neighbor has cute orange flowers.

Sometimes Sydney is willing to do a photo shoot. I got several cute photos, but this is the silly one.

Weekend in Ashland

Wednesday, October 20

There's no time for writing, but here are a couple of photos I took during our weekend to Ashland without the kids.  Beautiful fall weather!

Crater Lake

Wednesday, August 18

Wow, August is flying by.  Last week we camped for three nights and stayed at a timeshare near Klamath Falls for two nights.  The girls saw Crater Lake for the first time.  Everyone had a great time.   I don't have much time to write, but here are a few photos I finally put on a web album.  CLICK HERE.

Flying East

Wednesday, June 30

Well, we're home from vacation and getting over the jet lag. The girls finally slept until 7:30 instead of waking me up at 6am! I decided to try a post a few pics every day instead of writing a big post. We had a great time in the 95 degree weather and spent a lot of time in the pool and some in the ocean on Topsail Island. It was a super clear day when we left Portland. Here is Mt. Saint Helens and the Columbia River. I really wanted a shot of Mt. Hood, but I was on the wrong side of the plane.
Here is Mt. Saint Helens with Mt. Adams (I think).

I'm not sure where we were for this shot, I'm thinking Rocky Mountains. As you can tell this is a "look at the pretty mountains post" not a "geography lesson post".

You Capture - Get Down Low!

Thursday, June 24

We've been on vacation at the beach in North Carolina since Saturday and I really had to think hard to figure out the date.  It's been really HOT here until last night when we had a late thunderstorm.  Poor Kyla (the big sister) has had a fever since Sunday, but she has still made it to the ocean a couple of times.  I really she will feel better today since we have to leave tomorrow.  Here is me (or at least my camera) gettin' down low.

Last Weekend

Saturday, May 15

I feel like I'm always posting old news.  Just know that whatever you read here probably happened at least one week prior.  We had a lovely Mother's Day weekend at the coast with friends.  The weather was perfect.  We watched the sunset.

Went swimming.

Played in the sand.

Felt the breeze in our hair.

Played with friends.

And even got a little exercise.

End of Summer

Monday, September 7

Hope you all had a happy Labor Day weekend! I always forget that Kevin doesn't get this holiday, so the girls and I just relaxed and got ready for school. We organized the clothes and the backpacks, cleaned the lunchboxes and the vintage Thundercats and Transformers thermoses purchased from eBay, played with friends and went to soccer practice. The girls are really excited that school is finally going to start tomorrow and so am I!

Really I just wanted to post the camping photos from last weekend at Alder Lake, WA. We had a little rain and no running water in the bathrooms, but the cousins had a great time together playing on the rock and driftwood filled shore, picking blackberries and roasting hot dogs on the campfire. I am thankful that we were all able to spend a weekend together. Here are a few photos to get to started.

Peace & Quiet

Sunday, June 28

Last week was the most peaceful week that I've experienced in the last 8 years. Today, not so much, but now at 8:30pm the girls are already asleep reviving themselves for adventure tomorrow. Kevin and I stayed for three nights in an upstairs room in this little antique shop in Ashland.
Here was our comfy bedroom, complete with private bathroom, coffee cart, and small fridge.
There were fresh flowers while we had breakfast of scones and tea.
It was only a block to the Shakespeare Festival . We got to see Don Quixote and Much Ado About Nothing and both were great. The one time we drove to go see a movie, we returned to find this little deer in our parking spot.
We had a quiet picnic while watching this pond at Lithia Park. I kept feeling like something was missing. No one was yelling or whining or hanging on my arm. For a few days my name was Deanna instead of mommy. Ahhhhh.
Thank you Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle Ken for keeping the kids so happy! They had a great time and now complain that our yard is sooo boring, no riding lawnmowers, no fishing poles, no cousins and no swing.

You Capture - Summer

Thursday, June 25
As I'm writing I've got 52 more minutes left until midnight Pacific time to get this weeks photo challenge posted. I haven't missed one yet. I have spent the last four days without kids, and the last three without internet. I missed them both! This last week was a great way to start out the summer. It involved a road trip...
A very scenic 18 mile bike ride (Bear Creek Greenway, Ashland, OR).
While the kids enjoyed time with their cousins and uncle at Gma & Gpa's house.
